When Spring comes our way it's not just time to spring clean your home, oh no, I think it's equally important to spruce up your make-up bag a little too. Generally Spring means warmer weather (if we're lucky) which instantly makes me think of lighter bases and fuss free make-up that results in an effortless, pretty look.
Did you know that on average women spend £150 to switch up their beauty products for Spring? So therefore I've been set a small challenge by Voucher Codes to go out shopping with a budget of around £50 to introduce some Spring suitable products into my daily regime... p.s I did spend a little over £50.
Earlier in this post I mentioned lighter bases, however seeing as we're on a budget i've thought of some purse friendly ways to change your base. Instead of hunting on the market for a new one, why not mix your current favourite foundation with a moisturiser? You're essentially creating your own tinted moisturiser with no dent in the bank balance what so ever. Or, make sure you're skin is well moisturised to prep it in order to sheer and blend out your foundation, this will result in giving you a "your skin but better" look, try it!
Now, onto what I picked. The first product I thought of to get was a bronzer, I think I've found the perfect one. Nars Laguna (read more here) is the perfect addition if you want to add a sun kissed glow to your complexion. Because of the gold shimmer within the product, it looks extremely pretty applied to your cheeks and high points of your face, if not you can also create lovely definition with it. Next, I wanted to pick up a lip product. In the warmer months I always reach for products that are sheer and very easy to apply. After browsing on the counters it seemed there was no better match than the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 02 - It offers a light wash of peach, feels hydrating and leaves a subtle gloss. The last product I wanted to pick up was a cream blush, this one from YSL is stunning. The perfect peach that blends in beautifully looking very natural and almost a part of your own skin. I love cream blushes for this time of the year because they are so easy to apply and I personally think they suit lighter bases much better.
