*Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Mocha, Burberry Eye Definer in Midnight Brown,
Real Techniques Starter Set
You all probably know I'm a bit of an eyeshadow noob, but I made a beauty resolution to be more adventurous and experiment with them, pulling myself away from my usual classic eye liner look. For some reason I always felt it didn't suit me, but I think thats just a case of getting to used to it.
So, first thing I needed to crack this resolution was some good eye brushes. Where else to head than Boots to pick up some Real Techniques? Next up, I needed a palette on hand. I'm never one to go for anything bold, I just wanted something that was very neutral and defining. This Burberry palette in Mocha is absolutely perfect for this. They apply so effortlessly that you hardly need to blend at all, quite sheer but build-able, very smooth and buttery soft. Burberry are so on point with their cosmetics, keeping with the brands classic image focusing on a neutral palette throughout their products. They are at the utmost quality you would expect and the packaging is so luxurious with the iconic Burberry embossing.
For this look I applied the light brown all over the lid, as well as bringing it underneath my bottom lash line. This shade alone looks beautiful as a wash of colour, as do all of them. Next, I took the mid brown and placed it on the outer corner of my lash line, then mirrored this on my bottom lash line, and blended to create further definition and a slight smokiness. I felt like my upper lash line needed slightly more definition across the lid, my product of choice? The Burberry Eye Definer in midnight brown. This also made my lashes appear thicker, which is essential if you plan on wearing no mascara, It's a great substitute for black to detract from a harsh finish. These pencils are also super long lasting, so fantastic for water and tight lines. For the last step I applied it to my water line, but just the outer corner to bring it all together and... Voila! You could leave it without mascara, known to be a classic Burberry look, which to be honest I don't think looks too bad after a quick eyelash curling, or just a slick of mascara finishes it off nicely too.
What do you think? There are so many looks you can create from this palette and I think it may have just converted me. You can buy Burberry cosmetics from Harrods, John Lewis or Harvey Nichols.
