Afternoon Tea With Sisley

Thursday, 10 January 2013

Sisley is a brand I've always been curious about. It's very much a luxury brand that I'm likely to turn too if I want to treat myself to something special. I spent the afternoon with Sisley to find out more about their make-up line and watch the fabulous make-up artist demonstrate their products.

She started out by prepping the skin with their gentle cleansing water, Eau Efficace to remove all traces of makeup and daily grime. Then she applied their Express Flower Gel mask which is a hydrating mask, once left on for 3 minutes, skin is perfectly moisturised and plump. This is one of the products that really intrigued me, she used it by applying to the skin and leaving on for 3 minutes or so, after that her skin had literally drunk it up, she then wiped away any excess. To create the perfect base she applied their Ecological Compound, which is their daily moisturiser. Last step of the prepping stage included her applying their Nutritive Lip Balm, which provided an intense moisture boost.

Now, onto makeup. For foundation she used their Phyto-Teint Eclat oil free foundation which is a beautiful with a lightweight formula. It's based with silicones meaning it offers a smooth, flawless finish not sitting in any pores or fine lines. For adding some definition and colour to the face she used their Phyto-Blush Eclat Blusher in Pinky Coral - which I have to say was stunning, another favourite of mine. To finish and complete the base, their Phyto-Poudre Compact in Transparent Mat powder was applied down the centre of the face, to ensure the achieved natural finish is kept in place throughout the night.

For the eyes she created a subtle, smokey look by using their Phyto-Kohl Star Glittering Eyeliner in Smoked Topaze - This was perfect for adding some definition without being too over the top. The sparkles within the pencil really set it off for me. To finish off the eyes some mascara was applied, their Ultra Stretch Mascara in Deep Black to be exact.

Now for the lips, my favourite part. When she pulled this product out I instantly fell in love, It's a perfect, rich, deep red with a fuschia undertone. It had a lovely sheen, a great finish that flattered the lips. The product used was their Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in Geisha Red, perfect for parties and special occasions.

You can purchase Sisley directly from their website here, or visit their counter in Harrods
