Clarisonic Mia 2 Launch & My Thoughts So Far

Thursday, 4 October 2012

The other week I got to preview the launch of the Clarisonic Mia 2. This is a tool I have been curious about for about a year now. It took the blogging community by storm, the reviews and what people had been saying about it makes it sound incredible. However, It came with a hefty price tag of around £120 which I could never justify spending just incase it didn't work for me.

The way in which the Mia 2 is different from the original Mia is that it now has two settings. You're average setting and another which is slightly stronger, great to use on problem areas where there might be some congestion. The Mia 2 costs £130 and is exclusive to Space NK until December, then it will be available to you nationwide.

If you have no idea what a Clarisonic even is, it's a tool that you use on your skin to achieve a deep cleanse. The little, soft and gentle bristles cleanse your skin 6 times better than you would using your hands. Overall it's meant to help with redness, congested skin as well as balancing your skin.

I have been using this device for about a week now as a part of my evening skincare routine with my Emma Hardie cleansing balm. I have to say I am impressed! I have seen some changes already, it feels less congested, brighter and the redness has gone down. Even my boyfriend picked up on it without me having to say anything, and that's saying something! Coming from someone who rarely notices anything. I'm going to continue using it in my routine and update you all maybe every month or so.

  6. I'm not sure if you have this brand over in the UK but here in Canada (not sure about the States) there is a brand called Olay, and they have a professional cleansing system out as well. It was actually shown on the TV medical show The Doctors.

It's called the Olay ProX Advanced cleansing system, and there are several youtubers who have done comparision videos on the Olay ProX and the Clarisonic and Mia/Mia2 models.

I just bought the Olay ProX because I heard it works better for some people than the Clarisonic's. I posted about it on my blog but haven't done my reviews yet, as I still need more time to formulate an opinion.

Just thought I'd share that for anyone looking for something cheaper that could work just as well, it's only $25 Canadian, which ends up being about $24 USD or so, not sure about pounds..maybe 30 or 40 pounds.

  7. I'd love to give these a try, but like you said it really is a hefty price tag for something that might not work for you xx
