L-R: Bobbi Brown Corrector, MAC Pro Longwear, MAC Studio Sculpt & Benefit Erase Paste.
I am one of the unfortunate ones that suffer with dark circles under my eyes, I have pretty much always had them. I have no idea how to get rid of them and have tried so many things like drinking plenty of water, changing my diet etc. Maybe its hereditary I don't know! So until I can literally get rid of them I need to find the best products that suit me to help hide them. These are all the products that I'm using and experimenting with at the moment to see which ones are the best for me. My under eye circles are purple/blue toned for reference.
Starting with the Bobbi Brown corrector I'm using the shade light to medium bisque, when the MUA matched me up at the counter it looked perfect under the bright un-natural lights... Then of course when I tried it at home, ultimate fail. Its far too pink for me and makes me look ill. I know a lot of people love this, so maybe it is a great product but I have just been matched wrong. Pro Long wear is a really good concealer, it covers great, but not enough. I like the formula and it dries matte and of course as the name says it lasts a long time, which I love! MAC Studio Sculpt is also really good, I'd say it probably covers a little more but I'm not too keen on the creamy formula. Last but not least Benefits Erase Paste. I really like this, its more peachy toned which covers up my circles really nicely, It's also quite thick almost waxy if that makes sense? The shade I use for this is No.2. I know that two of these must go really well together and I'm currently using Erase Paste, Studio Sculpt and Pro Longwear. I know this must sound a lot, but using a tiny amount of each seems like a good mix. First starting off with Erase Paste, because its peachy toned it hides the blue tone, then I use the Studio Sculpt to cover some of the peach tone and to match the rest of my foundation, as well as to brighten the under eye area, I then just use a tiny amount of the Pro Longwear because it dries matte and sets it in a way.
Has anyone got any trick/tips/products you could share with me?

I have the same problem and I've tried so many different concealers but nothing seems to work. I find Erase Paste in the lightest shade is still a bit too dark/orangey for me. I also don't really wear foundation so I find that some concealers look really cakey around my eyes compared to the rest of my face.
ReplyDeleteThe Bobbi Brown corrector is next up on my list of things to try. I was waiting until I could go to a counter and get matched although from what you've said I might be just as well guessing which shade I need myself! x
Isn't it so frustrating? ahh thats must be annoying! I'm sure it is an amazing product but just need to be matched up correctly. I'm annoyed that the money has been wasted! Just look at your natural undertones and go from there! I have yellow/peachy undertones so I have no idea why she matched me to that one!
DeleteThis is EXACTLY what happens to me, I try and cover up my dark circles and only end up looking cakey and orange around my eyes, this is so frustrating, and it upsets me, because people comment saying how I look drained/tired/unwell and thats not the case.
DeleteJess has any of your products been working for you? X
I'm still on the hunt for a decent under eye concealer. Literally everything wants to crease on me ! xx
ReplyDeletePro Longwear is good for not creasing as much as creamy ones. I think all concealers crease a little bit because you just can't help the natural creases in your eye! But definitely stay away from creamy ones! :)
DeleteI love Erase Paste for under the eyes. Have you tried the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer, thats really good and lasts all day :)
ReplyDeletenoo, i'm still yet to use that! Guess I should get it soon :) i just have the impression its not very high coverage? xo
DeleteI have the same problem Erase Paste is on my wishlist. x
ReplyDelete:) its a really good product! xo
DeleteI have dark circles, I'm pretty sure it is hereditary! I use YSL Touche Eclat - you can never use too much - followed by Benefit Powderflage which I can't find in stores in the UK but you can get on their website. That is truly amazing, I would recommend it to anybody! Xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the recommendations :) I really want the Touche Eclat!! xo
Deleteif i use the bobbi brown corrector after i've the done the rest of my makeup its far too pink on me as well. what i do is use the corrector to get rid of discolouration, apply my foundation and then use a collection 2000 concealer on top of that to get rid of any extra darkness. works a treat! give it a go under your makeup because it really is a great product xx
ReplyDeleteI may have to try that tomorrow and see how I get on. Thank you for the tip :) xo
DeleteI totally agree. I had bought the Bobbi Brown corrector and tried using it on its own and it was a complete failure. The trick is to use the corrector first and then add your concealer over the top of it :)
DeleteI suffer from dark circles as well. I recently bought Laura Mercier's flawless face kit and I love it. I found it on sale at sephora recently, I will include the hyperlink below (just in case you want to check it out).

DeleteDue to horrible nose bleeds I've constantly got dark circles (im aneamic 99.55% of the time) and find the only thing that properly hides them is yves saint laurent touche eclat on the bridge of my nose then a mixture of it and mac studio finish under the eyes

Ahh that must be horrible for you! A lot of people have recommended this product I may have to purchase it :) Thanks so much for the tip and recommendation :) xo
DeleteI have the exact same problem and it puts me on a downer every time I go to cover them up. I've tried so many things to, and trial and error never seemed to work for me. I used the MAC Pro Longwear concealer, but found it didn't stay long enough. So, I went to Benefit recently on a whim, and left very satisfied. They recommended the lemon aid, which is actually a primer for your eyelids, so of course its staying power is perfect. I apply that with a brush over my circles, and add foundation or concealer over the top. It's yellow, so you need quite a pigmented concealer or foundation, and it's better to get one that's matte. I'm going to pair it with Erase Paste when I get a healthier bank account. Hope this helps.

I also use YSL Touche Eclat - it really is a miracle worker for dark circles! I also sometimes use Lancome's 'Effacernes Longue Tenue' Long lasting concealer which is also really good for concealing my dark circles well but without getting cakey :)
ReplyDeletemac studio finish is really good:--)~

Use Benefits Boi-ing! I've always had dark circles under my eyes and this product gets rid of the straight away, if you don't want to pay that price, Healthy Mix Concealer from Bourjois is a great concealer as well. I always use Soap and Glory Supereyes,Supereyes, Moisturising Eye Gel, which helps tone them down a lot.
