September GlossyBox: My Thoughts

Friday, 16 September 2011

I was recently contacted by Lily at GlossyBox to ask if I would like to receive the September box to see how I got on with it and my thoughts! Of course I jumped at this opportunity as I have always been interested in the GlossyBox service. Hearing mixed reviews before I wasn't quite sure what to expect...

GlossyBox is a beauty subscription service that delivers 5 luxury sized (and sometimes full sized) high end beauty samples to your door each month. This service costs £12.95 including p&p. To me this is a perfect service for any beauty obsessed individual like me. Whilst subscribing to your GlossyBox you have the opportunity to create your own "beautyprofile" which allows the GlossyBox team to include the products that suit you best. Another bonus about this service is that along with your box you receive discount codes for some of the products, the downside about this is that the codes aren't valid for a long time. You also receive a little card telling you about each product that is in your box and a little note which makes it more personal. OH and how could I forget the packaging?! A lovely little pink box which is perfect for storage after.

HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette -
This is definitely the star product in this box for me. I have been after some sort of brow kit for a very long time but never got around to buying one. I have tested this product and it is amazing, Its perfect for everyone as you receive four different shades in the palette and is worth £19.99 on its own. Bargain alert!

L'Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil -
This product is a hair oil and is once again a full sized product at 125ml.  This is a fantastic product but I wish not to use it for personal reasons and preferences, but on the other hand my sister absolutely loved it! It smells gorgeous and the packaging is lovely. Hair oils have been all over blogging community recently so I'm sure many people were happy to see this in their GlossyBox.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse -
A very interesting product in this months GlossyBox, I have never heard of this brand before so I was extremely excited to try it out after reading on the card that it is indeed body oil. Once again I am a very happy lady, I have been looking to try a body oil for ages and this is just perfect. its a dry oil which is none greasy and leaves your skin extremely soft! It can also be used on your hair and face. In LOVE!

Plum by Mary Greenwell Perfume
This perfume sample is nice but its not for me. On the other hand my mum loves it, so I would definitely say its more of a mature scent. Do not get me wrong though this is still a really great product to have in the GlossyBox adding variety!

StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate -
I have been a little obsessed with eye creams at the moment so as you can imagine I was thrilled to get this in the GlossyBox. Its a sample size and claims to last for two weeks, which is a perfect amount of time to test a product. I have not used this yet but it does claim to after 2 weeks of use to reduce dark circles, which is an issue for me. If it does the job I will definitely be purchasing this.

Overall I am really impressed with the service from GlossyBox, the presentation and the products inside. There is definitely a variety of products which is always nice. I also think its amazing to receive two full size products. I would say the products in this box would come to to price of around £30.00 - £40.00 - Which is incredible seeing as you only pay £12.95! I would definitely subscribe to GlossyBox when I have  bit more money coming into my bank account, I am officially a student again as of next week so I have to watch my pennies!
